F&R Construction Group: Décadas de experiencia en proyectos de construcción de alto perfil

As one of the primary partners in the construction of Puerto Rico’s new University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center, F&R Construction Group has a long and impressive history of contributing to the island’s development and growth through a number of high profile construction projects. “Since our beginnings in 1972, we have played an important role in shaping modern Puerto Rico and helping our business partners achieve their goals promptly, efficiently, within budget, and on time, while building landmarks and reshaping our skyline along the way,” said Antonio Fullana, partner at F&R Construction Group. “With more than 40 years of construction knowledge, we know how to be fully engaged in any kind of project, and at every phase.”

This includes serving a wide range of markets throughout the past four decades, including academic and corporate facilities, design build/fast-track projects, green buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial sites, infrastructure and institutional projects, military facilities, parking structures, retail establishments and other special projects. Construction experience includes reinforced concrete and/or structural steel buildings— both high and low rise—as well as site development. “What this all means is that when undertaking any project or assisting in the planning phase, our clients can be assured the expertise, competence and dedication they require,” Fullana noted. As a member of the Puerto Rico Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Puerto Rico Chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (also known as the Puerto Rico Homebuilders Association), F&R Construction Group has consistently received awards and recognition from these organizations, as well as from others.

When it comes to projects such as the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is expected to be completed by the end of next year, healthcare facilities have been among F&R Construction Group’s major projects over the years. This includes the SIM Medical Facility in Corozal, Dr. Antonio M. Ortiz Pediatric Hospital Tower at Centro Médico in San Juan, Diagnostic Treatment Centers in Bayamón and Guaynabo, and the Family Health Center in Río Grande. “When working on highly complex projects such as these, we not only ensure the utmost quality, but also pledge superior construction value to every job,” Fullana said. “Our track record in building first-rate healthcare facilities, and everything that goes with that, is second to none, and we are proud of our team of professionals, who are fully qualified to take on projects of this caliber.”

And while he noted that because of its magnitude, mega projects such as the Cancer Center are typically awarded to general contractors from the mainland U.S., F&R Construction Group’s stellar reputation for building other healthcare facilities throughout the island enabled the company to form a joint venture with RB Construction Group, making it a fully integrated Puerto Rican effort. “Except for the architects, this project is a completely local effort, and that makes it very unique,” he said. “Once completed, there won’t be anything like it in Puerto Rico or anywhere else in the region, and we are very proud to be playing a major role in this endeavor.”
